In 2009, real estate company Norrporten commissioned EnergyMachines™ to carry out an Energy Design and review the Vasen Quarter buildings with the aim of presenting an energy efficiency plan for the property. The property covers a floor space of approximately 35,000 sq m on four floors and is the workplace for 1100 people. Tenants include the Survey Office, Courts of Law and the restaurant. The businesses are mostly offices, auditoriums, restaurants and server holds for the Survey Office.
Our Energy Design led to eco-friendly measures that save up to 500 MWh/year. The existing chiller was replaced with an integrated energy system from EnergyMachines™ optimised for cooling the Survey Office server hall. Our energy system also produces comfort cooling and process cooling when the outdoor temperature exceeds +21 C.
The installed Energy Machine unit is also designed for heat pump operation and produces around 2000 MWh of heat per year.
The new integrated energy system was deployed in 2010.
